There are a number of fun events and activities to enjoy in Palm Beach County this holiday season. From holiday music to a sand Christmas tree, and even a bit of “snowfall,” there is plenty to do with family and friends.

Let’s explore the top 5 holiday events and activities happening in Palm Beach County while following social distancing protocols and other guidelines intended to help keep you and your family safe, happy, and healthy this year.

1. Sandi Land

Sandi, the world’s one and only 700-ton 35-foot tall sand tree in the city of West Palm Beach will make its 9th appearance this year. Sandi is located on the Great Lawn in downtown West Palm Beach, west of Flagler Drive, at the east end of Clematis Street.

This year, Sandi and a new friend, Hope the Flamingo, will make their debut on December 5th when the annual light shows and music begin. Running through December 31st, the light shows will run daily from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Families will also enjoy the new “dancing water” light show at Centennial Square Fountain.

In addition, kids can visit and take pictures with Santa, who will be safely located inside an adorable snow globe, on December 6th,19th, and 20th. Tickets are also available for the annual Sandi’s pancake breakfast on December 19th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. which includes photo ops with Santa in his snow globe.

Palm Beach residents and visitors can also visit Sandi and Hope while shopping at the GreenMarket on December 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th or enjoy a singalong and story time with Sandi on December 20th.

2. The Famous Delray Beach Christmas Tree

For the 26th year, the world famous 100-foot tall Christmas Tree will be on display for all to enjoy from December 5th, 2020 through January 1st, 2021. While the interior will be closed this year, families can still marvel at the massive tree filled with colorful lights.

In addition to the tree, downtown Delray will join in the fun with festive holiday street décor to spread the joy of the season. Kids can deliver their letters directly to Santa at one of Delray’s North Pole Mailboxes. You will find them at Catherine Strong Park, Community Center, and Pompey Park. The great news is if kids include their address, Santa will personally reply!  Beginning on November 30th, and following each Monday through December 21st, families can join in Very Merry Monday Holiday Strolls with carolers and live music while contributing to a toy drive for the children in need.

3. Palm Beach Holiday Boat Parade

The Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County will host the 26th annual Palm Beach Holiday Boat Parade. The boat parade will light up the Intracoastal Waterway on December 5th, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The parade begins at North Palm Beach Marina, led by a Zambelli traveling fireworks display, and ends at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse. Boats of all shapes and sizes will be be-dazzled with holiday décor, shimmering lights, and more as they celebrate the season with the 20th annual Toy Drive for U.S. Marine Reserves Toys for Tots and Little Smiles. The “toy fleet” featuring amber beacons and/or Toys for Tots signs will pick up donations for those enjoying the parade, all you need do is wave your flashlight.

4. Palm Beach Zoo and Conservation Society Zoo Lights

Families and friends are invited to explore the Palm Beach Zoo for the annual Zoo Lights, held this year beginning on December 5th, 2020 and continuing on weekend’s through January 9th, 2020. Here are the following dates:

  • December 5th-6th, 11th-13th, 18th-23th, and 26th-29th
  • January 1st-3rd and 8th-9th

As the zoo’s inhabitants sleep, guests walk though holiday theme displays lit by one million eco-friendly lights. The event runs from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and also features unique animal encounters, s’mores by the fire, holiday cookie decorating, and photos with Santa (through December 23rd).

5. Lights 4 Hope

The 2020 Holiday Light Show presented by Lights 4 Hope, features a drive-through holiday extravaganza with synchronized music and holiday characters. The event is being held this year at Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through December 27th, 2020.
